Where to stay in Jacksonville, Florida. (Jacksonville Beach Area)?

I guess it's the best way to phrase. I've never been in Florida, and I want to go to Jacksonville.'m sure there are safer areas than others. I prefer a vacation rental or condo near the beach. My husband and I will be there Junish with our daughter about 3 years. We'd like to stand and walk a short distance from the beach. We arent Fraidy cats by anymeans, but want to be sure to our son. We are from Ohio and if you watch the news in Ohio is not exactly outside the crime. LOL. Also ideas about seafood restaurants low cost, perhaps to perform. We do not need pomp and circumstance that only want to eat good seafood. Thanks
