I want to go to Orlando, Florida, HELP !!!!?

My plan to move to Orlando in a year approx. "08" / "09", but I'm scared because I hear some discouragement. My grandparents live in the use of Ft Lauderdale in the mid 80's to mid 90's and I loved my vacation there. I want to buy a house around $ 300 – $ 375,000. Can you tell me which areas are safer, shopping areas, malls, etc.. I live in New York (tri-state area) for that crime is very close to home. I'm tired of frost and payment of the mortgage on my home. Thanks guys!

I would not recommend Orlando is free because it is very touristy and full year full of people, but there are other areas around Orlando who are nice and generally safe. Blue Moon kissimmie, etc. which are the areas of Nice and out of the hustle and bustle of Orlando. There are also Cocoa Beach, Daytona, Deltona, Saint Augustine, etc. available on the east coast. I lived in South Florida for 26 years and never had a problem with crime, but every city has crime, no matter where you live, New York or Idaho, my aunt lives in the Orlando area and loves.
