Looking for a great beach in South Florida?
Hello, I'm planning a vacation in South Florida in December. My family is a group demanding when it comes to beaches … I am looking for a clean sandy beach, calm waters (combed, if possible, preferably not too much algae). The beach should be fairly broad. That's all my criteria so far … I've heard good things about Fort Lauderdale, South Beach (clean sand is not?), Bahia Honda (Is not there a lot of algae if?) also has the warmest water in late December? Thanks a lot!
Here are the average December temperature of water supplied by the National Oceanographic Data Center: Miami Beach, Key West = 73 = 72 Naples-Marco Island FL = 68 Just a note: I vacation in the three towns in late December and may be a bit cold for swimming. It just depends on how comfortable you and your family will be with these temps. Marco and Naples did not have the nightlife of South Beach, but the beaches are spacious, clean and tidy, and there is plenty to do. There are many stations on the beach condominiums, most with heated pools. Good Luck!
