Sanibel Island may be small, is just 12 miles long, is only three miles wide and has only two main roads. But if you're looking for the best beach get-away, then this package is its small sand ideal travel destination.

The island is located on the southwest coast of Florida and west of Fort Myers. This is an easy flight from anywhere in the U.S.. Southwest Florida International Airport, also located in Fort Myers, opened in 2005. The new modern terminal provides convenient travel. Located near Interstate 75 and U.S. 41 and with car rental facilities within the terminal, vacationers can be sunbathing on the beach within an hour of landing. Several airlines offer non-stop flights such as AirTran Airways, Delta, JetBlue U.S. Airways and the U.S. 3000 Airlines.

And when flying and driving is more – it's time to relax and enjoy the unique barrier island. If picturesque inns and cottages are more your style, there are several wonderful places to stay. The beach huts on the island of Sanibel, the Shalimar Resort and Gulf Breeze cottages reflect the old days in Florida and are just some of the available options.

If you prefer having a bit of luxury then enjoy some of the best resorts of Sanibel's. Dribbling with the comforts and luxury of the South Seas Island Resort (Captiva), the Ybel House Resort and Sanibel Harbor Resort & Spa offers the best of the beach and resort vacation.

The island is known for its beautiful white sand beaches and stunning deposits, but more Sanibel in the sand. Two local theaters, the Repertory Theater of Florida and the School of Theater – both offer distinctive entertainment. Add live music or shows dance to their agenda, visiting major centers of cultural arts. It's worth a trip to Sanibel Historical Museum and Village Inc. to take a step back in time and learn what made the island become the wonderful place it is today.

Of course there are the rules of classic holiday entertainment on the beach — Only in Sanibel that are even better. Fishing is more than fishing and boating is more than navigation. The area fishing captains will take you on an excursion fishing to remember. You can join the inshore bay fishing or back or travel to the Gulf for some fishing off shore. Either way, water is all blue and green and the fish are expected to be biting. Enjoy the capture of local species (depending on season) Snook, redfish and Tarpon or go high sea fight with cobia, barracuda and sharks.

If you prefer to be more close and personal with the living water pipe premises and facilities point dive of the island. There are also kayak and canoe rentals, and parasailing – all of which are a great way to experience the view.

Or simply come and visit the island, sit in the sun and collect some shells. Walking along the beach and enjoy the warm waves. Watch the incredible sunsets and feel the sand between fingers. Do nothing but relax and enjoy the island of Sanibel, a minute's time.
