If there is a place on earth where almost everyone wants to go at a moment of their lives – whether newlyweds, college students, families with young children, or retirees – is Orlando, Florida. Why? Because it is the home of Walt Disney World! No matter how young or old you are when you travel to Orlando and head to Disney World, which always feel like a child. Excitement, adventure, fun atmosphere and just plain almost guarantees a perfect vacation in Orlando.
In fact, Walt Disney World first opened in 1971 and since opening day, has been expanded to include a vast amount of features! It comprises four theme parks, a sports complex, racetrack, two water parks, six golf courses, twenty of the family or resort hotels, and many, many more restaurants, shops and options entertainment could ever experience in one visit. Literally, Walt Disney World includes more than 20,000 hectares of space in Orlando, making it the part of the world's largest entertainment. Think that's still not enough? Believe it or not, Disney has made its own adjacent community in suburban Orlando, called Celebration.
Since there are four separate theme parks at Walt Disney World in Orlando, can sometimes be a little confused as to what each party really stands for. Here is an overview of each theme park within the property of Disney World:
1) The Magic Kingdom: This theme park has seven "countries", and each focuses on a different and unique theme. Inside the Magic Kingdom, you travel to Main Street USA, Mickey's Toontown Fair, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and – each with its own set of thematic walks to enjoy!
2) Epcot: The Epcot park was initially built as a tribute to technological innovation, and as such, focuses more on display rather than walks. There is also a strong focus on learning what it means live in harmony with international culture, and therefore many of the presentations are very informative and culturally related.
3) Disney-MGM Studios: This part of Disney World has five separate topic areas, each trying to focus on a different part of the production of "study" the process. These areas include: Hollywood Boulevard, Mickey Avenue, Sunset Boulevard, the Patio of animation, the Backlot!
4) Disney's Animal Kingdom: The park here is dedicated to animal conservation, and as such has seven little "lands" that focus on different species of these areas – sometimes real and sometimes imaginary! The sections are: Oasis, Camp Minnie Mickey and Asia, DinoLand USA, Discovery Island, Africa, Rafiki's Planet Watch.
A trip to Orlando, Florida, simply not be complete without at least a day at Walt Disney World – after all, is the place where dreams are supposed to come true!

The Official Album: Disneyland/Walt Disney World
$16.98 Though it's neither as comprehensive nor as elegantly presented as The Music of Disney: A Legacy in Song, this compilation is an enjoyable sampler of music from Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Naturally, the music's good for reliving memories of the parks, but when listened to at home, the best selections reveal previously unnoticed complexity. The oldest recordings, like "The Tiki Tiki Room" an... |
