More and more Major League Baseball teams are choosing areas in Florida to celebrate their spring training camps. This is for several reasons. Due the fact that the weather in Florida is very warm and very mild during the winter / spring months, a team from anywhere in the United States can begin training spring in time, and not having to deal with the cold and snow.

This allows teams have the same advantage as any team in the country. For example, Boston Red Sox can not begin to train outside in Boston until late April, when the season opens. Moreover, the Los Angeles Dodgers can train outside all year. This factor contributes to the migration of many teams in major league baseball in Florida to conduct their spring training.

It is a further boost to the economy, as these people need a place to stay, places to eat, and most likely, places to shop.

Holidays and tourism in Florida also flourishes because of the MLB spring training. This is because many people come to Florida to watch a game during the season of training, and end up making a vacation out of it all. Usually, they will travel between some cities, theme parks to visit, eat at restaurants and tourist attractions of the visit.

The month-long drive to Florida's economy is due to spring training. Exhibition baseball in Florida has had a positive impact on Florida's economy for 100 years. The cities that host MLB teams in all growth areas of their economies. However, with increased population comes increased responsibility. More police officers are required to handle additional people, and there is a definite impact on the real cities. For example, there is more waste produced, and more problems arise due to the bars and restaurants are crowded. Hence, Florida cities must take this into account and should employ more people to cope with the influx of players and fans.
