Taking a vacation Jamaica is a sure way to find a center of relaxation in a tropical setting. It is also a great way to visit an island with interesting people and things to do.

Jamaica is one of five popular holiday destinations in the Caribbean for other reasons. The island is 600 miles from Miami, making it more accessible than elsewhere in the Caribbean, particularly in southern destinations.

Anyone planning to vacation in Jamaica for the first time could search for hotels or resorts in three areas main – Ocho Rios, Negril or Montego Bay. Like the Dominican Republic, Jamaica is best known for all-inclusive resorts, where customers can take advantage of meals, drinks and entertainment for a fee. It is similar to the experience found in a typical Caribbean cruise.

Although many visitors stay in all inclusive resorts in Jamaica during the week, some of the most active visitors will go out and find Jamaica attractions worth seeing. A of family attractions most famous Dunn's River Falls, where visitors can climb hundreds of feet to the cascading waterfalls in a daisy chain of handholding. Other visitors who want outdoor adventure excursions can be made through the Blue Mountains, which are known as the location of the famous Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.

Kingston is a popular place to visit, both for visitors from cruise ships and those who remain for the week on the island. It is the largest city English-speaking South Florida and has local attractions including the Bob Marley Museum, the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens, lots of shops and a long list of other historical and cultural sites to see.

If you are planning your first trip to Jamaica through a hotel or resort, you need to get a passport to enter or leave the country. If you are visiting via a cruise, you will need a passport when you board the cruise and when I return. But you need your ID only ship to go down and returned to the ship when docked in Jamaica.

The weather in Jamaica is a critical part of any plan to vacation there. Visitors September avoid to November, because those months are in the midst of the annual hurricane season in the Caribbean. Heavy rains and tropical storms are common, while hurricanes pass through or nearby, on rare occasions.

The most popular two months for visiting Jamaica are June and July while the final months of spring are popular too.
