Are timeshares worth the money? As an accountant, I asked myself this is not the few times I've stayed in them, because I have one, but because people lend your week (which was nice, of course).
The property is the main ingredient that is sold in the high-pressure percentage of time that must attend if you are linked in a semi-paid vacation to some resort for a week. They do everything they can to make you feel bad if you do not buy into the programs.
Well, let me at least shed some light on what I know about timeshare. This is one of the experiences I've had, people have spoken, and achievements I have arrived.
Maybe you do not want to buy an apartment or house in a resort. No blame. Now I get older I am glad to find a holiday that I can call our home for a week or two, but still enjoy the adventure of traveling the world and finding new places from our daily lives become so routine (which aspires to as they age eh?).
Timeshares are simply a way to have a period of time in various resorts, villas, holiday destinations etc. ..
You pay an upfront cost, often thousands of dollars that can vary from having these weeks. Each year, you pay a maintenance fee, which can be costly in the eyes of most people. "So if you want to transfer your week to a different location, that is the beauty timeshare now, you pay a small fee (we pay one hundred dollars).
Is it expensive? You tell me. I will tell you our story timeshares and how they have worked for my in laws (and passing us !!!!)
First, I have a relative who owns a condominium Florida at a popular beach, which is unbelievable. That really does not visit often and have paid by travelers who want to rent throughout the year. This is a situation viable if you have the ability, money, or do not know how to do this. In essence, your condo is paid for by others is capitalism at its best.
My laws but who love to travel many years ago decided to pay what seemed a small fortune to purchase the property at a Marriott timeshare. Each year they are guaranteed a week in premium beach resorts, cruises, etc, which guarantees your accommodation is well maintained.
The good thing about this is they pay a small fee maintenance each year for a resource that would pay 3.10 times the price if they pay by the week or night.
Let me show you what I mean, providing our example. We have stayed in one of the best ski destinations in one of the premier beach in the United States (East Coast of Florida). The ability to get a condo here is very limited and we have been able to get the week due to a timeshare that our parents had.
During the week, talked to some people who paid for the night and although I admired his ability to pay $ 500 + per night, paid a total of $ 1100 which includes the transfer rate and the maintenance fee for the year.
Add that to the people and paid more than $ 3500 for a stay of 7 days which is over 3 times what we pay! I do not care if you're a Gazillionaire, but saving money where nobody can be fed.
Just to name some of the advantages we had a personal concierge, Overlooking the beach, the market, 5 pools, 9 spas, workout facilities, and everything you can imagine in a resort.
So, why other were paying 5 times what we pay? I must say that in this case, time spent was worth it and why we recommend it as an option in some cases. Certainly, if you can buy the sites, which may be the best option.
The key in my opinion, is the launch price to pay and whether or not you will get a ROI quickly!
So, in conclusion, our vacation was amazing, because the station timeshare and stayed at worth the investment. Are you off? According to my in-laws, which has paid for itself many times over!
