If you have never traveled to the Caribbean islands do not know what you're missing is a real paradise, if that place exists. The Caribbean Sea runs from South America to to the Gulf of Mexico and meets with the Atlantic Ocean in the east.
No wonder it is the holiday destination of choice for North America South with natural beauty rarely seen anywhere else on the planet. Some of the islands feature lush mountains with coconut trees and valleys filled sugar cane and bananas, but the beaches and azure waters that bring people back again.
When you see the beauty of the Caribbean islands will understand why the British, Spanish and French fought over them for centuries after the area was discovered by Columbus when he got lost trying to find a shortcut to India. They are still the influences of colonial dictatorships on St. Croix, Bermuda, Aruba and other islands, with a mixture of native cultures and culture of the colonists who settled there.
There are also over fifty resorts to choose distinctive island with some of them, like the Bahamas, dozens of islands themselves. One thing is certain, never will be cold in the Caribbean!
The island of New Providence in the Bahamas, Nassau, is sometimes called by mistake, because that is where the capital of the Bahamas. This island, which is a short tour of the east coast of Florida, is home to most of the Bahamas and is also a offshore financial center with millions of dollars are invested and sheltered there. There are, of course, the famous shops of Bay Street and side streets nearby shortly. Be sure to take the taste of local music as well, which is as famous as the azure waters surrounding the islands.
Another top choice in the Bahamas is Eleuthera, one of the outermost islands and also one of the least developed. If your goal is to go to a beautiful place that is sparsely populated and a little more primitive, this would be my suggestion. Eleuthera has little nightlife to speak, unless you consider the small bar, Elvira, where Lenny Kravitz is known to hang out sometimes. Lenny owns a house there, his mother is from the Bahamas.
Almost anywhere you stay will be walking distance from the beach and the different areas of the island are so diverse that would probably have to make several trips to appreciate them. We stayed a month and still not get to see everything we wanted. Definitely want a rental car, because although taxi service is unreliable at best and there is no public transport. Picking up hitch hikers is a daily occurrence and a fun integrate into the culture.
