Help for fishing guide service in destin?

I am 15 and freshman in high school. I am a very avid fisherman and love of the sport. I have a lot of knowledge of the capture of shad to the kings cobia. I've been on vacation a couple of times a year to Destin, Florida, for all my life and that is where my heart lives. My dream is to go there and start fishing businesses of inshore fishing guide, such as tarpon, kings, bonito, cobia etc. Only need some knowledge of what to study in college or high school, what it takes to start a guide service in Destin, and anything to help my dream come true. Thank you.

Most guides take years (or life), learning and fishing waters in their region. Knowing your regional waters is probably the most important aspect of the guide anywhere. No high school or college classes to prepare for guiding, (except perhaps Business or Marine Biology). The "must have" guide in Destin, Fla.? # 1. You MUST know the water is guided, (period). # 2. You MUST have captains license (6 pack; OUPV). # 3. You MUST own some form of insurance, (Death and Dismemberment, accountability) You do not want to accidentally kill someone in a guided tour and being uninsured. Apart from a well-designed guide boat, Misc & address bar, an excellent business plan and a good attitude, that is all that is "necessary". Most guides have other sources of income or are retired. If you rely only on the money you make the safest guide to very poor. You need get a reputation as a fisherman, where you want guidance. When you are working age you should try to get a job at Bass Pro Shop in Destin, (or a BPS in your area). BPS has access to all U.S. guidelines. Indeed, it would be a good learning experience to hang out and avoid facing any environment the workshop. Hope this helps? Good luck.
